This Friday night APRIL11th the DJ Stage is throwing a benefit dance party at the DELTA of VENUS. The DJ Stage will be back in the Wellman Pit this year for festival. In order to present the atmosphere we envision we need to raise a few extra dollars to cover our production costs.

Come out and support your WEF DJ's, get your groove on, and help us bring our dream to you!!!

WEF Logo Contest!

The theme for the 2007 Whole Earth Festival is:
Arise, Smile and Be the Change!
(In no paticular punctual order)
Let in be known far and wide a call to artists to submit Logo entries that
embody our Theme and The Whole Earth Festival.
Guidelines:
The submissions should include the name:
(The 38th!)Whole Earth Festival
The theme:
Arise Smile and be the Change
The Dates:
May 11,12,13 2007
Location:
UC Davis (Quad)

Other ideas to consider including would be Dance, Music, Art, Education
(including: social justice, Gender awareness, Environmental Ed, Health and
well-being and Appropriate Technology), Compost and Recycling (and
worms!), Re-usables, Spirituality, Community and whever else floats to
your mind when you think WEF.

More things to consider:
-Posters are generally printed on 11 X 17 inch paper
-Since we will be screen printing our posters and T-shirts we encourage
people to use No More than 4 colors.

Paid workers wanted for WEF benefit stage moving.

Hey WEF folks,

The BUZZ is a Welcome Students kind of event that is going to be held on Friday 29. September. They want to rent the WEF stage.

They are asking whether we can set up two stages like we do for Picnic Day.
To answer them, I need to know if anyone is interested in being on set-up or tear-down crew.

Set-up crew is 9AM - done on Friday 29. Sep. crew is paid money
Tear-down 9AM - done on Saturday 30. Sep. crew is also paid

If you want to be on one or both of these paid crews, I need to know ASAP. If I don't get a good responce, I'll have to tell them "Sorry, we don't have a crew and can't rent you our stage."

If I do get enough commitments, I'll make a bid and if they accept it, WEF will make money, the crew will make money and the BUZZ will have their stage. A win-win-win situation.

Send me a private message if you can to commit to one or both of the crews.

Any time you show up will be wonderful, it might even be souperwonderfunkiful (depends on whether Campbell shows up)

WEF Listening Party on 101.5FM KDRT

I am going to be previewing some of the acts featured at WEF this Sunday (April 30, 2006) from 3pm-5pm on 101.5FM KDRT. The broadcast is going to replay several times up until festival, but I don't have the rebroadcast schedule at this time. I hope all y'all Davisites can tune in.

Fear not superwonderfunkers, your tribe is alive and well. Possibly even more so than it was before. The change-over to Karma Patrol when brought down from the executives over at WEF.
Yeah, yeah...I know what your saying.
If we can change Karma Patrol to Chaos Control and then back again to Karma Patrol... Why not just change it to Superwonderfunkers this year so we don't have to change the name of the tribe?
Well folks, it's not that simple...
As many of you know, we have a little thing called concensus here at WEF and well... yeah.... sooo yea! Karma Patrol!
But superwonderfunkin Karma Patrol!

Here is a list of superwonderfunkin events:
3/15- the meeting after the first meeting
4/5 - my 30th birthday
4/12 - a Karma Patrol meeting of the tirtiary nature
4/26 - The meeting to rally support for the silk screening of a lifetime
5/3 - The meeting to prepare for the party before the party
5/10 - The final meeting to prepare for the superwonderfunkadelic magic fun blasting pallace otherwise known as WEF.
