Fear not superwonderfunkers, your tribe is alive and well. Possibly even more so than it was before. The change-over to Karma Patrol when brought down from the executives over at WEF.
Yeah, yeah...I know what your saying.
If we can change Karma Patrol to Chaos Control and then back again to Karma Patrol... Why not just change it to Superwonderfunkers this year so we don't have to change the name of the tribe?
Well folks, it's not that simple...
As many of you know, we have a little thing called concensus here at WEF and well... yeah.... sooo yea! Karma Patrol!
But superwonderfunkin Karma Patrol!

Hey, I'm a KP kindda guy, but is this group limited to Karma Patrollers? Are those who miss all the fun on the quad also shut out of the enlightening exchanges that will take place here?

    Thanks Tyler.

"what's involved with the Karma Patrol and it's WEF energy?"
What's involved?, why just show up and make WEF a good Festival. (You get to define "good".) See the message about the first meeting to find the dates for the other meetings. (Did Tyler mention a party? A KARMA PATROL PARTY???? I need to go check.)

"Isn't WEF just one event of superfunk wonder?"
It is just one of many such events. Its also the best.

"does KP involve patroling to find people that aren't feeling superwonderful and FunK 'em uP?"
Yes, but only if the people want to be FunKed up. Non-superwonderful feeling folks need to be handled on a case by case basis. (subtle plug for Non-violence workshops)

          Ok... let's see here,
          ah yes... "Superwonderfunkers".
The 1999 theme to Whole Earth.
SOme regard this as possibly one of the most fantastic themes of all time.
I chose this name for a tribe once upon a time and dedicated that tribe to booty shakin' and the like.
But deep down I knew this tribe would be called for higher purposes. This tribe would act as a beacon to all those who join forces in creating the most awesomest festival of all time.
So now in this time of preperation for our mother earth to blossom forth into springliness SUperWonderfunKERs metamorphosize into Karma Patrolers.

However, and this being however, during one of my last rants of tangentic proportions, I seem to have mentioned turnign Karma Patrol into Superwonderfunkers.
Having had just turned Karma Patrol into Chaos control and then back to Karma patrol, Superwonderfunkers seemed like the logical and congruent next step of our chaotic evolution.
If this makes no sense whatsoever, it because it does.

Personally, right now I'm leaning towards changing Karma Patrol to Superwonderfunkers, but it could prove difficult in the arena of consencus.

*might* be hard to get through the process???

            hee!

i'm really enjoying the fact that you used the word consencus. it has a great ring to it. reminds me of the word sanka. i've always liked that word. wanted to use it more often.

After close analysis by the executive administrators of the Karma dome we have decided not to make a decision. Hence, Karma Patrol will stay KP for the now.
              Keep on SuPerWonDerFunKin~

wow i'm not sure what's going on yet, but i know i'll be pushing good superwonderfunker energy at WEF. and have since i've lived here...however i'd love to find new and wonderous ways to do so.....and i'll resist the temptation to FuNk uP non-superwonderful feeling folks that want to stay in their not so booty shakin' funk. that's a tough one fo' sho'. Much love. I'll just skip the non violence training and coerse people to dance regardless. arrrrrgggg!!!!! take that Superwonderful Funker!!!! So much for resisting temptation....

                Bliss

I am sooooo happy that the Karma Patrol is back. Control is such a power over word, and Chaos Control seems to imply that Chaos is something which cannot be tolerated.

I think Superwonderfunkin Karma Patrolers sound like a Funktastic idea, although i feel like changing the name wouldn't bne a great idea. I mean, we want everyone at WEF to be a Superwonderfunker, yes? And if we labled the people in the exceptionally cool shirts Superwonderfunkers that might make other folks feel like their Superwonderfunkytude was being cramped.

    Namaste,
    Chris

Ok, as one of the founding members of the First Apostolic Church of Chaos Maybe (FACoCM), the originators of the Kiss Chaos theme in 1988, which was vetoed in an unpleasant way by the director only to resurface (unbeknownst to us it had become kind of an underground cause celebre) as a theme many years later, resulting in the renaming of KP to CC, which REALLY pissed off a lot of my fellow old timers who, thankfully, didn't really know my part in it so I escaped any haranguing, I'd like to clear something up.

When we came up with the theme, we did not mean Chaos in the sense of anarchy/disorder. The founding members of the FACoCM (Joseph Malki, Stephen Telm, Mark Krowdis and myself) were big fans of the emerging science surrounding what was called Chaos Theory, which was finding order in previously considered unorder/turbulent things. To us, and I can't really speak for anyone else, but since we were the originators of the theme which started this whole mess, our opinions might be of some interest, it was a statement of a higher order...a non-linear, dynamic order. Sadly many people, including the director that year who, after it won fair and square, threatened to resign if we chose that theme, didn't get it.

Furthermore, and I'm speaking just for myself, I think the whole idea of renaming the KP Chaos Control is absurd. Personally, I don't like the word Control and found it inappropriate in application to the cadre of people who do that voodoo we all know so well and bring forth that wonderful entity known as the Festival. I like the name KP, but I'm not wedded to it as others are...it's just kind of habit to call it that...and I'm not really against renaming it...in fact I kind of like Superwonderfunkin'. It's the whole Control wordage I couldn't stomach. It makes us out to be kind of like cops or some kind of BDSM thing (which might be kind of cool, if one year all KP'ers wore black latex and carried whips...oh, sorry...).

Anyways, I thought I'd put a little history behind the thing in case someone was interested.

And while I liked Superwonderfunk as a theme, my personal favorite was "Just Do it." in 93, when the Director let Nike sponsor the Festival.
